How can I sell to the City?
A:
In order to sell items to the city,
you must become an official vendor. To do so, call the Purchasing
Department at (415) 554-6702 and ask for a "vendor profile form".
This will enable you to be listed in the Purchasing department's
"vendor file".

How do I get certified as a minority/woman/local owned business?
What are the benefits to being certified as a MBE/WBE/LBE?
A:
San Francisco's Minority/Woman/Locally Owned Business Enterprise
Program (MBE/WBE/LBE Program) is a comprehensive effort by the
City and County of San Francisco to encourage parity for minority
and woman owned businesses in City prime contracts. Please call
the Human Rights Commission at (415) 252-2500 to get certified
as a minority/woman/local owned business.

Q:
What is the "minimum compensation" ordinance and does
it apply to me?
A:
The
"minimum compensation" ordinance
requires certain companies and non-profit
organizations that contract with the City or
operate at San Francisco International Airport:
Pay workers an hourly wage of $10.51 ($10.77
effective January 1, 2005), provide both paid
and unpaid time off, and certain other
benefits. For non-profit organizations, the
wage will remain at $9 per hour. Please click

Q:
What is the "health care accountability" ordinance and
does it apply to me?
A:
The
"health care accountability" ordinance
(HCAO) requires some but not all companies that
contract with the City provide their employees
health plan benefits which meet the minimum
standards established by the Director,
Department of Public Health and approved by the
Health Commission or pay $1.50 ($2.00 effective
September 1, 2004) to the City for each hour
worked by each covered employee.
